Vacuum Has No Suction? Model-Specific Troubleshooting

Hoover’s bag and filter page, no-suction page and hose page are UK advice pages. The bag page says the blue pre-motor filter can be washed in warm water and must be thoroughly dry before refitting. The no-suction page covers the float in the SX9750, SX9760 and TWDH1400 tanks. The Hoover SMART manual, marked GB, says to wash its filters without hot water or detergents. Its thermal cut-out warning applies to certain models: using the cleaner for a significant period with a full dust container, dirty filters and a blockage triggers a shutdown to prevent overheating. If this happens, Hoover says to switch off, unplug and correct the fault; the cut-out takes about 30 minutes to reset automatically. BISSELL

The BISSELL support page covers the My PowerClean/Healthy Home Upright Vacuum. It says to empty the dirt tank with the release button on the carrying handle, wash the pre-motor filter with water and mild detergent, and let it dry completely. It says to tap the post-motor filter against a waste bin. It also says the air flow diverter should be to the right for suction from the hose and to the left for suction from the floor.

Miele HS11

The HS11 operating instructions are the en-US edition. The manual warns that paper FilterBags, or FilterBags with a cardboard retaining plate, can seriously damage the vacuum. Fine dust blocks the FilterBag pores quickly, so the indicator can read full before the bag fills. A large amount of hair or carpet lint can fill the bag before the indicator reacts. The manual lists four exhaust filter types and says the fitted one depends on the model. As a precaution, confirm your HS11’s exhaust filter type before ordering. Its FAQ says a temperature limiter switches the machine off when it gets too hot. Switch off with the On/Off foot switch and unplug. After correcting the cause, wait about 20 to 30 minutes for the vacuum to cool.

SEBO AIRBELT K

The SEBO owner’s manual covers the AIRBELT K2 Turbo, K2 Kombi and K3 Premium. The AIRBELT K BAG FULL OR CLOG light comes on when a full bag, a clog in the airflow pathway or an excessively dirty filter reduces airflow. If the light stays on after a new bag and good filters, the manual says there is likely a clog in the system. Its clog removal section covers the head or brush, the telescopic tube, the hose and the entrance to the filter bag. For a K3 Premium with an ET-1 power head, it directs readers to the power head manual for detailed clog removal instructions. The manual lists AeraPure filter bags as part #6629AM and says not to re-use the filter bags. At lower power levels, the light may illuminate incorrectly.

Kenmore DC2021

The Kenmore DC2021 guide is a US Use and Care Guide for the 200 Series bagless canister. Its clog removal section says to turn off and unplug before inspecting the dust cup, filters, separation unit and straight suction nozzle. If suction remains poor, it describes powered suction tests at the hose end and wand end, followed by an inspection of the straight suction nozzle swivel for dirt or debris. Turn off and unplug before clearing debris, as its maintenance warning instructs.
