Floor Washer Not Spraying? Check the Clean Tank and Ports

Short answer

Match the spray fault to your model: Tineco iFloor 3 covers the clean-tank level and clogged spray holes, while iFloor 2 Max covers clogged spray holes. For the eufy WetVac short-of-water prompt, check the tank level, water suction port and spray ports. On Roborock WD1S1A, a persistent empty-tank alert after refilling calls for tap water only. On Bissell Flip-Ease / Vac & Shine 5288 and 60P4, check tank seating, the gasket, the bottom valve and the spray tips.

The short answer

When a floor washer does not spray clean water or solution, match the checks to the model you own, because each manufacturer’s page lists different steps. Tineco’s iFloor 3 page covers the clean water tank level and the spray holes, and its iFloor 2 Max page covers the spray holes. The eufy WetVac short-of-water article covers the tank, the water suction port and the spray ports. The Roborock WD1S1A manual covers a clean water tank empty alert that persists after refilling. Bissell’s support article for the Flip-Ease / Vac & Shine, models 5288 and 60P4, covers tank seating, the gasket, the bottom valve and the spray tips.

Identify what is failing

Record the exact alert or symptom and the model name printed on the machine. A spray fault is separate from the dirty-tank faults in the pickup guide. If water does come out but leaves a trail, use the streaks guide. For other faults on a cordless machine, start with the cordless troubleshooting hub. A robot mop that stays dry is covered in the robot mop spraying guide.

Tineco iFloor 3 and iFloor 2 Max

The iFloor 3 troubleshooting page for not spraying water has two checks: whether the clean water tank has enough water, and whether the spray holes are clogged. For the spray holes, the page says to clean them with the cleaning tool. The iFloor 2 Max page has the spray-hole check only, with the same cleaning-tool step. Both pages carry a note that, unless prompted to do so, the trigger should not be pressed while checking any part of the machine. Apply each page’s steps to its own model only.

eufy WetVac

The eufy article covers the clean water tank short-of-water voice prompt on the WetVac. Its first steps are to check whether the tank needs water and fill it to the MAX water line, then remove the clean water tank, clean the water suction port, reinsert the tank and press the water spray button to confirm the port draws in water. The article also says to check whether bubbles appear in the clean water tank during normal use.

If those steps do not fix the issue, the article has you remove the rolling brush cover and the rolling brush, clean the water spray ports on both ends, and press the spray button to check that water comes out of both ports. If the issue still remains, the article says to email eufy support with a video showing it.

Roborock WD1S1A

The WD1S1A manual’s filling procedure has you push the clean tank release, remove the tank, turn it upside down, open the plug and add clean water. You then close the cover, reinstall the clean tank bottom first and push inward to secure it. The manual’s notes say: “To avoid deforming the water tank, only use cold water.”

The manual’s common-issues table covers a clean water tank empty voice alert that persists after refilling; this advice addresses that alert, not a no-spray fault. For that case it says: “Use tap water only. Do not use purified water.” The same table covers excess bubbles and says: “Only use Roborock cleaning solutions with the vacuum. Do not add other cleaning solutions in the water tank or on the floor.”

Bissell Flip-Ease / Vac & Shine 5288 and 60P4

The Bissell article covers the Flip-Ease / Vac & Shine wet dry hard floor cleaner, models 5288 and 60P4, for a unit that is not spraying. Its steps include removing and reinserting the clean water tank, checking that the gasket is attached to the tank, and pressing the x valve on the bottom of the clean water tank to check whether water flows through. If no water comes out, the article says the tank may be empty or the valve may be blocked, and that soaking the cap and insert in hot tap water can clear a blockage.

The article also says to fill the tank completely with solution and water, and to keep the spray tips clear and clean, clearing clogs with a paper clip or an old toothbrush. If the gasket is missing, the article says a new cap and insert must be bought.

Practical checks for the spray path

Use the checks that match your model and the alert you see.

  • Tank level. On the Tineco iFloor 3, refill the clean water tank when the tank check says it is short. On the eufy WetVac, fill to the MAX water line. On the Roborock WD1S1A, refill when the empty alert appears. On the Bissell 5288 and 60P4, fill the tank completely with solution and water.
  • Seating and gasket. On the Roborock WD1S1A, reinstall the clean tank bottom first and push inward until it is secure. On the Bissell 5288 and 60P4, reinsert the tank and confirm the gasket is attached. On the eufy WetVac, reinsert the tank after cleaning the water suction port.
  • Valves and ports. On the Bissell 5288 and 60P4, check the valve on the bottom of the tank. On the eufy WetVac, clean the water suction port and, if the prompt persists, both spray ports once the rolling brush cover and brush are removed.
  • Spray holes and tips. On the Tineco iFloor 3 and iFloor 2 Max, clean clogged spray holes with the cleaning tool. On the Bissell 5288 and 60P4, clear clogged spray tips with a paper clip or an old toothbrush.
  • Water and solution. On the Roborock WD1S1A, use cold water and Roborock cleaning solutions only, and use tap water rather than purified water when the empty alert persists. On the Bissell 5288 and 60P4, the article’s fill step calls for solution and water.
  • Trigger. On the Tineco iFloor 3 and iFloor 2 Max, do not press the trigger while checking parts unless prompted.

When to contact the manufacturer

If the checks for your model do not restore spray, contact the manufacturer with the model number and the alert you see. For the eufy WetVac, the article asks you to email eufy support with a video showing the issue. The Roborock WD1S1A manual lists after-sales contacts by region, including support@roborock-eu.com for Europe and service@roborock.com.au for Australia.

Questions readers ask

Can I use purified water in the clean tank? On the Roborock WD1S1A, the manual says to use tap water only when the clean water tank empty alert persists after you refill the tank. The same manual asks for cold water so the tank does not deform.

Should I press the trigger to see whether water comes out? The Tineco iFloor 3 page says that, unless prompted, the trigger should not be pressed while checking any part of the machine. In its port checks, the eufy article directs you to use the water spray button.

Do I need a new cap and insert? The Bissell article says to check that the gasket is attached to the water tank. If it is missing, a new cap and insert must be bought.

For a floor washer that leaves water behind, see the pickup guide for the dirty-tank side of the same machine.
